HUMANE CLUB

List of Humane Club’s members (physical and legal members)

Would you like to support projects geared towards the social integration of blind and visually impaired people? Become a member of the Humane Club!

The Humane Club Homer was established May 20, 1998 according to positive and renowned world examples such as Rotary Clubs and Lions Clubs. We are aware that only the goodness and understanding of each of us can encourage the growth of the community as a whole.

The goal of the Humane Club is to ensure a continuous flow of financial means in order to support our strategic program named “Skills Laboratory”. In order to successfully and comprehensively carry out the latter program geared towards the social integration of blind and visually impaired people it is necessary to hire professional staff throughout the process and implementation fazes of the strategic program and all its projects. A constant source that would support and finance long-term projects is inexistent, which impedes the Association to carry out its activities and accomplish its set goals and thus holds back the constant efforts put into activities aimed towards the social integration of blind and visually impaired people, which has been rated been rated as extremely successful in the last 11 years.

The Humane Club’s mission and vision
  • Ensuring a constant and permanent revenue source that will continuously enable the realization of present and future projects aimed towards providing assistance to blind and visually impaired people.
  • Meeting friends and partners that will support the Association towards achieving the set goals and vision – a society in which every individual has equal chances of achieving personal happiness and independence.
  • Introducing the public about the problems and needs of blind and visually impaired people.

The Humane Club’s members

The Humane Club’s member can be any physical or legal person that:

  • Supports the Association’s activities according to their own abilities.
  • Attends the Association’s Board meetings (without option to cast votes).
  • Makes proposals, suggestions and comments the Association’s activities and programs.
  • Is informed about the Association’s vast sphere of activities and doings.
  • Adds to the Association’s recognition and acknowledgments.
  • Financially contributes as a member of the Humane Club, yearly.

Long-term goal is to ensure constant financial resources.

Short-term goal is to form the core “Golden 12”, base for an independent club with a continuous performance till the 2006 year end.

Projected activities that the “Homer “association will assume during the year 2005/2006 are the following:

  • Finding the core “Golden 12”,
  • Developing a database of potential members.

Expected results: A permanent and secure financing system in order to carry out the program and its projects. An entirely new organizational development of the association in order to achieve financial support and carry out the association’s programs. A well-developed financial plan with the “Humane Club“ as one of its financial sources.
